Why is it so hard to find a real work from home job? And why are there so many scammers out there?
A job… It is what I want and what I need. But going out and looking in my community is not a very possible option right now. I get so excited every time that I see what claims to be a “legit work from your home job.” But every single time that I really look into what I find, it was either a rare offer for one person or a scam of some sort. How can these “businesses” live with themselves taking advantage of people like me who really need a job and are willing to work hard? And are there any real entry level work from home jobs in the US? … Something that actually pays you by the hour for the work that you do rather than just giving you a small commission if you are lucky enough to bring them a customer?

It really depends on what sort of skills you have. My dad has a computer and basically makes a very tough living (it is hard work) working from home. He does all this fancy IT stuff and designing and trying to win audit contracts etc. He does it. You pretty much have to work for yourself if you wanna work at home.

I work from home for few years now. The company is legit and has been on the market since 1999. They pay me every time – no issues! You can start for free and work whenever you have time.
But, if you decide to work from your home (online), you need somebody to show you what do you have to do, otherwise u will do too many unnecessary things.
I started on my own, and I was not making any progress for quite a while.

Mixed into each one of these answers are some of the same folks who are trying to get you to spend money. The scam is basically that they stay at home, looking for folks like you to pay them money to work at home, then, you do the same.

First you need to educate yourself on all that’s available that you would be interested in doing. There are more ways to earn online than there stars in the sky. Well, maybe not that many but it can be over whelming.
I started by signing up for all the newsletters, mini-courses and such that I could find. You will filter throught them till you find the ones that appeal to you.
Once you find something you are interested in, you have to make a decision that will call you to action. If you can’t do this, and you only wish and talk about wanting, then you will never have what you want.

I have been trying so hard to find a legitimate work from job home…without having to spend money to get the job. I tried those free money making websites, where you have to pay just to get people to go to your website, I tried surveys and website referring….its all a bunch of crap.
About 2 years ago I was diagnosed with chron’s disease. Ever since then, I just have not been able to keep a job, because I am constantly getting sick, and taking bathroom breaks, etc. If I could work at home, I could dedicate so much more time to my job than I could if I worked at an office, because It wouldn’t matter if i was sick or not. I wouldn’t have to leave and go home sick every day because…im at home.
Please someone help me find a REAL job working from home that wont cost me any money to start.

The only way you can legitimately make money, is selling on Ebay with stuff YOU ALREADY OWN, or know how to make ( IE dreamcatcher’s, crafts and the like), or if you want to sell stuff for your friends and family that THEY already own… For listing fees and a small commission.. Of course…. Anything else is a load of BS. All you’ll end up finding out is how large of a load of BS it is…

I already know to never pay for anything on line-or disclose my personal information to unknown sources. However, are there really legitimate ways to make money-working from home on line ? Make a blog (easier than a website)and use google adsense.Most work at home sites tell you to set up a work at home site and sell memberships to other people.
You’d get more money by creating a blog and using google adsense to generate income. There is a 17 year old girl who is making mega bucks via some creative myspace layouts. (whateverlife is her site)
Alot of blog writing people make money this way.

I would love to do surveys online. I’m in Canada. I have tried to make money doing surveys online in the past, but all of the websites I went to, wanted me to send money as a start up fee for becoming a member. Other websites I tried, spammed the heck out of me once I entered my e mail address. I tried other survey sites which just brought me to another page with loads of other websites to click on that were apparently survey sites but nothing panned out. Please help! From experience, surveys take a lot of time and don’t pay you continuously for your efforts. Be sure any money you put into a company is guaranteed. I found that out the hard way. I searched for years and am glad I found what I did. Jennifer

Okay, first off you need to understand that you will not find a job that offers a position for you to work from home and make 70,000 a year. Employers want to pay the lowest amount to people. They extend their employment for these types of jobs to homeworkers, and pay them a minimum waged income. That is what home jobs is about for employers and for home workers it cuts out the “gas prices” Their take home is the same as if they were to have to work someplace else. Sure if they worked someplace else, their income would be higher, but they only kept minimum wage after they spent it on gas.
Survey’s will not make you 70,000 a year. What is required with survey’s what’s involved etc, the time and everything else is a joke. Low income wages there as well. Worse then minimum wage jobs!
If you want to make $70,000 pre year working from home, your only solution is to have a home based business. Plenty of industries out there that you can have a business within a businesses. They are “real, honest work working for a company out of your home doing whatever. Depending on what you decide to do with your business and what industry you decide to get involved in. The difference being is it’s not a job, it’s a business in which you would have to build in order to make whatever kind of income you want. Businesses gives people the “opportunity” to make what they want with no limitations. Where as “jobs” only give you the income opportunity in which the “employer” is only willing to dish out. So I’m afraid a home job will not make you what you want to make working from home. You really need to look into home based business opportunities. It’s the only way you’ll make the amount you want. Been there, done that! Home jobs won’t cut it at all!
In business, making an anual salary of $70,000 is very little actually when the opportunity far exceeds that amount. If you want to make the income you want to, then you seriously need to step out of your little box, and venture into something that can give you what you want, you just have to put the effort into it. Other than that, you will be stuck making a low income and never get anywhere in life and do the same things forever. Is that what you want?

What happens if your company catch you sending personal date from your work computer?
Sent some data from my work computer to my home computer via email, and then handed in my resignation. Needed the info as I am in sales and wanted the customer data base. Soon to be ex company have said they will search my computer when I hand it back. What can they do if they find I have sent these files? I will be out of contract by the time my laptop is checked.

They may be able to take you to court and sue you.
But then again if you go into your email and delete the info you sent out of the sent box, or if you sent with hotmail or something like that, They may be none the wiser, unless they go into deep analaysis.
I used to work for a company and we signed a contract i remember part of it saying “I will not pass on, sell, give away, or let out of the copmany any Proprietry information and any Personal information”
We were tehn told we would be sacked if we done so and were caught they never mentioned legal action, but you may be in a different scenario.

If your employer is recording you in your place of employment, that they own, they are free to continue recording you. They own the property and you work for them so they are free to place any restrictions or other conditions on you as they see fit (so long as they don’t break DOL rules/laws). Audio surveillance requires disclosure and in some states consent. The exception would be recording calls for “quality assurance purposes” but this still requires disclosure in most states – if not consent.
Your options are to deal with it or quit.
