Questions & Answers On How To Work From Home Online

Jane asks…

Surveys, work from home, online businesses…?

I am in a position where I NEED to find a way to make money from home and everytime I open my box I see more offers, and scam warnings, so here I am still wondering how and where to start.
How do I navigate myself into making money from home and where do I start?

admin answers:

Survey’s are not what you think. They require a lot of time, and you won’t make what they claim you will. A couple of my friends did a six month test on several different survey sites like Survey Savvy, Harris Poll, Greenfield, Opinion Outpost, Survey Sport, Buzzback, NPD online, Lightspeed Panel, African American, Your2Cents, Project Payday, Inboxdollar, SnapDollars,Send Earnings, Creation, mycoke rewards, E-poll etc. Each did some the same sites and some different sites. Totaling at least 15 – 20 a piece. They’re not what people say they are. Yes they are easy to do and you can receive money and prizes, compensating you for your time and effort. So they’re not a scam. They’re very time consuming though. When you add the time together, It’s more time then you think! If you do decide to get into surveying, you better plan on spending 8 to 10 hours a day and make minimum wage. Sometimes you will hit good surveys that will pay you a lot, but what’s required to get that is amount, the calculations of the time involved, and what you got paid in these “higher” paying surveys, still only averages out to minimum wage. It’s a psychological thing because the time is spread out on these, so it doesn’t seem to be as long as it really is. But we did the documentation’s and figured the time vs money factor. We found that there was more time with little money to be made.
Here’s how the survey’s work. You spend approximately 10 to 15 minutes per each site to register and set up a profile to qualify for surveys. (this is non paid). To make anything really work, you need to register for at least 14 different ones, and make sure non are related to each other. Then you’ll start receiving emails for surveys. Each survey you have to complete a 15 to 20 minute “pre-qualifying” survey, after you were already told you qualified based on your profile (you don’t get paid for this) Then if you do qualify for a survey (which majority of the ones you don’t qualify for. So you’ve wasted this 15 to 20 minutes and sometimes longer of non paid time.) Then if you don’t qualify for one, they offer another and you have to do the same thing, and the same thing happens.) You waste approximately 45 minutes to an hour until you finally qualify for a survey. You take a 30 to 45 minute survey and make normally $1 to $3 a survey that they claim takes 15 minutes. Or instead of money, you earn “points” which later on can be exchanged for money or prizes. You have to earn enough points to make $10. That’s not including the 15 minute pre qualifying survey, that you had to repeatedly do prior to land this survey. So you’ve now spent thirty minutes to an hour and made $3 or a few points. And the process between each of the survey sites is the same. So you can pretty much do the math. It averages out to be between $2 to $6 an hour. Sometimes you do come across a survey that will pay you $25 to $75 a survey, BUT there’s A LOT more to it then what meets the eye on that as well.
Here’s how the larger pay out survey’s work. It could be a telephone survey or a Internet survey. You get the pre qualifying part of 10 to 20 minutes then if you qualify for it another 15 to 30 minute survey or a telephone survey about the product your about to try to see if you qualify to try it. Even though you took a 10 to 20 minute “pre qualifying survey” that said you qualify for. When you qualify for it, they send you a product out to try for 7 to 10 days and you do some daily documentation’s on it. Depending on what the product is and the documentation’s it’s usually 5 – 15 minutes each daily documentation. (you got a free product to use around the house, this is a good part of it) after trying the product out you have to complete another survey that takes between 15 to 30 minutes to do. Now you do the calculations on that. You don’t get as many of these types of survey’s. They use the hype on getting paid $25 to $75 dollars for 15 minute surveys. NOTICE THE PLURAL IN “SURVEYS” What they don’t tell you is that there is more then one survey involved in these. Now calculate from your pre-qualifying survey to the next pre-qualifying survey from the company carrying the product, to the trial and documentation’s, to the last survey on these products. Then you receive a check four weeks to six weeks later. Do the math, that’s less then minimum wage!
Are you wanting to work from home? I’m guessing this is the case for posting this. Unfortunatly online jobs, suveys etc are pretty much a null. The ones that are available your looking at only making minimum waged or less.
With my experience in being able to work from home, I found the best way for more income opportunity is to have your own Home Based Business. If you obtain a home based job, you will make minimum wage or low wages. Home based businesses you have the same income opportunity as a traditional business has, with less over head expenses to pay for each month as well as the cost to start up is less. Most everything in your house, is part of your business, which becomes tax write offs. Your telephone, computer, heating, electricity, car etc. Less over head, less bills to pay out then a traditional business which means MORE profit and way more money then what you would earn in just a job.

With the business experiences that I have had, the best type of home based business to have, I feel is collaborating with another business. That’s what we did years and years ago. We collaborated with the largest direct selling Telecommunications service provider in the world. They market in Local and Long Distance telephone services, Internet, video phones, digital phones, VOIP, Satellite TV as well as all the major cellular phone providers such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Alltell, Nextell etc. We save people money on services that they already have and can introduce them to services that they don’t have. Every time these people pay their bills, we make a percentage over and over again each month. It’s really easy to do and we do it from home. So this is one type of home based business available. There are a lot of different opportunities out there, that can make you a sufficient amount of money. No, home based businesses are no scams. They are businesses not jobs though.
A friend of mine created a blog on her yahoo page on Home based Business opportunities. There are several different ones in different industries to take a look at and see which ones you think you’d be interested in. Legitament companies offering home based business opportunities through their industry. There’s also a lot of information that you should read about on home based businesses, blogs, reports, scams and the BBB. It’s not too long, just some issues that people need to know and educate yourself on. Http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-eqfAfFMlcqA8fDHDwdpcueRYyTm4

Rachel asks…

Are there any legit online or work from home jobs our there?

I was just wonder this because I’m always hearing about these scams and then I go and talk to people who are doing really good with an online job or a work from home job. If there are any I would very much like to know how I could get started.

admin answers:

I have been searching for the same thing, but in my experience, the only legitimate home-based business is if you apply for a “normal” employer & ask during the interview process if you can work from home, rather than going to an office or job-site. There are legitimate sites out there, but they are difficult to find. If you do choose a work-from-home opportunity, don’t give personal information (use Paypal to be paid etc, but don’t give them your banking information etc), & do a Better Business Bureau search on that company to see what is said about them. Generally, even if a company isn’t affiliated with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the BBB will have a report on that company, good or bad, if others have notified the BBB of the company’s business practices. I have saved myself a lot of headache by only doing business with companies that have a B or greater rating with the BBB. If they have no rating, then that means that there isn’t enough information from consumers given to the BBB to form a rating, & it could mean that there are a lot of complaints, but nobody has bothered to take it to the BBB or it could mean it is a great business with few complaints. Either way, with no rating or a C or lower rating, I am not going to take my chances. If the company isn’t listed at all with the BBB, then I wouldn’t use them because you are taking your chances of being scammed or ripped off if you have no way of checking out the company’s business practices. I answered your question because I thought this could be helpful, but I was also hoping to see other people’s answers because your question was one I have been wondering about also. Sadly, spammers decided to monopolize your answer section & you may not get any good answers due to that. They have been reported.

Richard asks…

how do i work from home taking online surveys?

i’m not looking to get rich quick. i just want to work part time from my home. what should i do?

admin answers:

The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.

Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics — e.g. Mothers of babies 0-12 years old — and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey — you’re definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.

Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don’t earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

The article “Earning Money from Surveys” provide a short list of legitimate market research firms and contains explanations of what to look for when joining surveys (and weeding out the fraudulent ones)

Hi,

I find it amazing how much there is about working from home online, the problem is though I haven’t found one yet that appears to not be utter bull. Anybody know if there are ways to get work online? Let me know,

admin answers:

Try to avoid the data entry and survey sites as most of them are scams. If you are interested in taking surveys for extra income (it wont be much.). Don’t pay for a list of survey
companies go straight to the source.

How can i find a legit online/work from home job?

Im 19, in college, and trying desperately to afford my apartment and i barely have any hours at my current job, and im a nursing student so online job would be perfect* cause I am studying so much.

admin answers:

Depending on your background, you could consider medical transcription, coding or billing. I was a medical transcriptionist

working from home.

Many transcriptionists get their training through a course of study while others carry their medical terminology knowledge

wit.h them from other health related fields. You would need to get the terminology down, and then get started. Many companies

want experience so there’s a catch-22. However, doctors and hospitals may be hiring, and after a time you can work from home

as many transcriptionists do.

How I can earn money online by doing some online work from my home?

I want to earn money by doing some online work from my home.

admin answers:

Here are my suggestions on finding a legitimate opportunity that’s right for YOU:

- Set your financial goals — Are you just looking for extra income or a potential full-time income? How long (and hard) are you willing to work to meet your goal?

- Determine if you are looking for a JOB or a BUSINESS — there is a distinct difference between the two and you want to focus your energies appropriately for the best results.

- If looking for a JOB, what are your marketable skills and previous experiences? If you are looking for a BUSINESS, go with your passions, things that interest and motivate you the most. Build a list and use that to begin your search. General rule of thumb: Never pay for a job (businesses, on the other hand, usually involve some expenses).

- Review your budget — know ahead of time what you are willing and able to invest into your business, including start-up costs and ongoing maintenance and promotion.

- Find a rep to contact, check out their websites, ask questions, do your own independent research.

- I personally also check out a company’s status and consumer feedback on www.bbb.org and www.ripoffreport.com

Hope this info helps, best wishes on your search…

How can i work from home by doing online jobs ?

Pl help me friends
I want to work from home pls suggest me some good website for online job and also they say that online jobs are not trust worthy is it true?

admin answers:

This is really good and free too http://www.lnternetmodeling.com

This is totally legit and they have been around for some years now. If your not into the modeling side of things then you can become an agent for them. Its totally free to become an agent and all it requires you to do is advertise for models.
You get a model to sign up from your code (given to you on sign up) and you get 10% of what that model makes for life!

Now the average model makes about $500 – $1000 a week, this means you can earn $50 – $100 a week for just 1 model referral.
If you get 10 models you can be looking at about $500 – $1000 a week!

This is a great opportunity for people who want to work from home.

Message me if you sign up to be an agent and i will help answer any questions.

Hope this helped

Google Now Hiring People To Work From Home?

I got an email from someone saying that Google is now hiring people to work from home and all they have to do is post website links. I read that you get $5 for the link. What kind of crap is this? Do I really want to believe this especially when I read over 100 reviews and comments from people like you and me saying they are a scam and that they never got their first check at all?

Is there a real opportunity to make money out there that is not a scam and something I can do from home? I tried cha cha but failed their test so I cannot do that. and I tried points to shop but to much spam for me to keep up with.

What can you suggest for a college student to make money on the side?

I would suggest you look for a part time job or offer to help people move or any other kind of labor services;like dog walking.

Questions & Answers On How To Work From Home Ehow

Bob asks…

Is anyone trying eHow.com to bring in more work from home income?

I started it in January but really started to write last month. I’m only making about $25 a month. Some people say that is good but most don’t say anything. I only have 9 articles. Is anyone making more than this? Here is an article of what I have learned so far to increase your earnings http://www.ehow.com/how_2299042_more-money-ehow.html please let me know if you know of more ways to increase the earnings. I think eventually this may be a great way to bring in a little extra income working from home.

admin answers:

The article you’d posted pretty much described the best way to make money and those are the methods I’m using to increase money. I’d been a member of eHow since last November and the money built up every single month and now I’d finally made it to $100 for last month earnings.

It takes two things- effort and commitment to get some good chunk of money every month from ehow. Writing articles every other day is also a great way to start boosting your earnings because you will gain more readers everytime they search for a subject.

Here is another great article you can read if you want more tips.

Good luck!

Helena asks…

Online, at home work?

I would like information about how to find a legitimate source of nicome from home. I write articles for ehow, which is reputable, but doesn’t pay enough.
Does anyone know of some legitimate opportunities to make money on the internet? How do you know if a company is legitimate?

admin answers:

They are all scams, be careful. It is better to get a real job, you may not lose so much money as if you stayed at home.

Steve asks…

Has anyone here wrote or is writing for eHow?

I just started and I want to know if you really make money doing it. I am not really looking for a work at home job but I wanted to start writing in my free time and I ran across eHow. It stated that it pays. I read everything about how it works but I would like to hear from someone that has or is doing this. How much to do you make every month and how long did it take to reach that?

admin answers:

Wow this is interesting! You can be paid? I love that site, (I don’t write for it), however if it pays I most certainly will start! I’m going to save your question! Thanks!

Daniel asks…

~Are there any hair cuts that I can do for myself at home?

I’m unable to go out to get my hair cut. Are there any hair cuts that I can do myself, or have my sister help me with? I have an oval shaped face, curly/wavy hair, and it sometimes frizzes. I would like to keep it long or at least medium-long. Right now its about an inch or two below my shoulder. I also had read to make uneven layers in your own hair to put your hair in many little pony-tails with rubber bands and then cut a little off from each pony-tail.
( http://www.ehow.com/how_4392681_cut-unevenly-layered-hair.html?ref=fuel&utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=ssp&utm_campaign=yssp_art ) Does that work? Would that even be a good idea for someone with my hair?

Would something like this:

http://www.prohaircut.com/A_Quick_Layere_Haircu_173.html

work?
Or this?

http://www.ehow.com/how_2056840_layer-hair.html?ref=fuel&utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=ssp&utm_campaign=yssp_art

Any other ideas? Thanks in advance. :)

Kirstie asks…

Why i can’t manage time no matter how hard i try?

Hello i am 9th grade. I can’t do my homework properly because i spend many hours sitting in front of monitor. It seems like i am addicted to the internet. I read some tips in ehow about stopping addiction but it doesn’t work for me. Every morning i am telling myself to do homework early, but after i come from school i am turning on my computer automatically. Should i leave my computer in grandma’s home? Can this help me?

admin answers:

You are a wise one. The only way for you to solve this issue is self-determination, and the sooner you do it the better. You will grow up to realise in life that there are always distraction, and that it is up to you to focus on what you want. My advice to you would be to seat for a minute and think about what you would want to achieve in life. May be you will not be able to decide on a lot of things, but that is ok. Loads of these things will not happen, so do not worry too much. What you need to focus on is doing your best in whatever you try to do.
Think of life as a journey…much like the journey to school in the morning. You set-off knowing where you want to go, with a planned route in mind…but you may find that part of that route is closed, so you need to find an alternative path. No matter what you do, believe in yourself and do it for a reason.

May be you need to focus on how not using your computer will help you achieve what you want to achieve in life. Think of these tests and exams and how if you studied now and did your research early on you would have much more restful time before these exams when everyone else is struggling to cram things in.

Sure there are all these parental locks that can be used on your computer, but none of these will achieve quite the same result as efficiently and effectively as if you chose not to use it. If it were me, and somebody tried to block me off, I would be even more determined to seat there for hours on end trying to unlock it. So for me that is not an option. You are better off looking at the direction your life is going and choosing your path and forging it yourself. We are all responsible for our actions in life whether we like to admit it to ourselves.

Goodluck, and remember to always believe in yourself no matter what ( and do good deeds everytime you get a chance) Cheers…hope this helps

Mandy asks…

Cant connect to Belkin 192.168.2.1? Please respond Quickly?

Belkin Wireless G Router model: F5D7234-4 V5

I’ve tried everything. Ive been on Google searching for an hour and a half and cant find a solution that works.

Things I’ve done:
Reset the router
Checked CMD “ipconfig” to check that the IP is correct
Changed TCP/IP settings
Tried using other default IP’s like 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.1

**NOTE** When i type in ipconfig /all into CMD, no information pops up. There is no IP, no default gateway, no DNS servers, only the standard 255.255.255.0 subnet mask.

**NOTE** When i reset the router, i hold down the button for 7 seconds, the light blinks, and connection resets, but the problem persists.

**NOTE** I changed my laptop’s TCP/IP settings to: IP – 192.168.2.2 ; Subnet Mask – 255.255.255.0 ; Default Gateway – 192.168.2.1
I got this idea from a tech forum.

This problem comes under these circumstances:
My family gets (steals/borrows) our internet from an unsecured linksys router across the street. We do not have internet. I am trying to use my belkin router as a repeater, (which can be done), i am using the tutorial from ehow.com: http://www.ehow.com/how_5076684_use-range-booster-access-point.html

My problem, as stated before, comes from the fact that i cannot connect to the routers “home page” or settings page or whatever, at “192.168.2.1″.

The router is not connected to a modem because like i said, we don’t have internet, it is just plugged in to the power cord.

Like mentioned above, i have restored to “factory settings” using the reset button multiple times, but has yielded no success.

I don’t have the box or the installer CD for the router, if this is the problem, i’ll have to keep scavenging around in drawers and find it.

The router emits its wireless signal like its supposed to, because my comp. can connect to it, just no internet (obviously).

I also tried plugging my computer into the router via Ethernet cable and trying the IP again, an that did nothing.

_________________________________

I really think after 2 hours its about time to just throw the thing away. This is my last resort and i hope you will read the question in depth and not give a bull **** answer.

All thanks in advance. I also am a newcomer to this site, and probably wont check if this Q has been answered anytime soon, so please feel free to email: krpman@gmail.com if you know the answer and would like to help me out ASAP.

-krp
**@Nasrudin H

I dont know how to respond to your answer so im just doing this.

I dont know how to simply “disable” my computers default gateway?

admin answers:

First, unplug your modem from the power source.

Next go into run, type cmd and press enter.
When the DOS screen comes up, type ipconfig and press enter.

Next type ipconfig r/r/all (ipconfig then a space thenr/r). The r/r means release and renew.

Next make sure that your power plug has been reinserted into your modem and reboot your computer.

Unless their is something drastically wrong this should have enabled your computer to come up with it’s new internet protocol configuration. You should be able to check to see if your computer will recognize the neighbors internet access.

One thing that you didn’t mention, did you let your neighbor know that you would like to use their internet access? It’s possible that you could get their help on accessing their network.

Whatever you decide, I do want to wish you good luck.
