I now work from home full time for a company in Canada.Are there any extra things I can claim on my income tax
I was working at the office before, but now I am working from home full time doing the same as before but just from home. Are there anythings I can claim in my income tax that concern work from home arrangements?

I do all the work through my computer, do not meet clients, only talk to them on the phone. I get paid a salary and get a paycheck every 2 weeks. dont need any supplies, just some paper or pens once a year maybe. dont’ have to use my car.

To claim expenses for employment, you will need a “T2200 Declaration of Conditions of Employment”, signed by your employer. I’m sorry to say this but everything you use to be able to do at home have been taken over by machines, you use to be able to stuff envelopes and put disks into things like the free aol internet disks but it has all be taken over by machines. Anything online is generally a scam, unless its something like google adsense but it pays pennies. You’d be better off taking an online course in something like bookeeping and earning money from home that way.

There are so many scams, and pyramid work from home offers that to find a work from home job will be very difficult if you use the Internet only. The government has been urging companies to set up work at home programs, (a former Mngr of mine told me the owner of our then thriving stu. Loan business, till the laws changed Sept.10th, 07) that during a trip to Washington, D.C. Regarding advisement of the pending change in legislation, that she had been advised by high ranking officials to start gearing her business for work at home. She never did, nor have the majority of private industry. The costs seem to be preventing the changeover, but gas prices, crowded and dangerous roads the alternative, govt. Agencies would like very much to see private industry expand work at home programs. Private industry is responding slowly, or not at all. If you can find an employer with a legitimate and verifiable physical address in your locality, you are fortunate, and would jump all over the opportunity. Your attempts at finding one by searching on line, may cause you to get involved in schemes, damaging your reputation, and perhaps even in violation of the law. I will follow this thread, I’m sure there must be some genuine work at home jobs from the Internet, but most people will tell you, for the most part be wary.

There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare.
If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as ‘Best’.

I am writing on behave of my sister. She is in India. She is having excellent teaching experience in the field of advance applied physics for all most 7yrs. unfortunately, two years back she was diagnostics with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) and stopped going to workplace because of her health condition. Now she is better and started looking some home based earning option.
She still can’t go out for work because of side effects of her ongoing treatment and at the same time because of expressive treatment she has to start something very quickly.
I was looking for online teaching classes option as she is having great experience in it but didn’t find any legitimate site so far. All of them are asking money upfront.

I am not acquaintance with the Indian society so I don’t know if unemployed women will be allowed to run such type of business instead of attending their choirs at home, in fact i believe that such business should be considered as “real” business and not just as something women could do in their spare time

My dad works away from home?
Hi everybody I’m should have made this question before.. My dad works really far.. I live in Central America and my dad works in India .. soo he comes every two months and for vacation over here he has like 3 to 4 weeks… he works as a pilot so I don’t know what my happen to him.. he went to work to India in 2006 …. I didn’t feel soo bad because he worked as a pilot over here too so like I kind of got use to it because he doesn’t come home that much.. He came for vacation in August 7 and he left today. I was really sad because he went to drop me off at school today and I just gave him a hug and a kiss inside the car and I wanted to cry but like I didn’t want to cry at school so I just took my tears in.. But after school when I arrived home I started crying .. I mean.. While I was writing this question and info I started crying.,… He definetely makes a whole lot of money over there but its like a big sacrifice.. Because its hard not have a dad to be by your side.. I really want him to come back.. But first he told me that he would comeback in 2009.. He didn’t.. Then he told me he was going to come at 2010.. He didn’t.. He told me that maybe next year he will be coming back… I what him to be here.. I’m 13 by the way.. Writing this description has made me burst into tears .. Please some advice ..

However, remember that it hurts him just as much as it hurts you seeing him leave you behind with the rest of your family. He leaves you with your mom and, if any, your siblings and your friends. You are more fortunate than he is, so you shouldn’t cry. You have people who love you enough to take care of you. He leaves behind his whole family just to make a living and see you grow into a beautiful flower. The best thing you can do for him is to let him know how much you love him and how much it hurts you to see him go. If he cries, wipe his tears off his face.
When he leaves his house and his family, he is leaving a part of himself behind. Imagine how much that hurts him doing so. I know that he is unable to make it home all the time, but when he is, cherish the moment by spending as much time as possible. I hope I helped at least a little. Switching from Tier 1 (PSW) category to Work Permit Dependent from within UK?
Hi,
I am on a work permit in UK issued in September 2007 valid until Sep-2012. I am looking for information to make an application for my wife on a work permit dependant category. My wife is already with me in the UK. She is currently here on a Tier 1 (PSW) due to expire in February 2011. We would like to make the application (switch) asap. After reading some forums I have learnt that to make a work permit dependent application, the applicant (my wife) would have to leave UK and make application from her home country (India). I would like to know if anyone has any information regarding this or if there is a way to apply for the dependent category from within the UK.
To apply from home country my wife would have to quit her job which is really disappointing. I request you to please help me with this query. Also if an application MUST leave the county to apply for a dependent category visa does anyone have an idea about the time lines for the application. The applicants home country is India (city – Mumbai)

She would have to go back to India if she was in the UK as a visitor, but as she is on a PSW visa, she can switch inside the UK.
You don’t say what Tier visa you are on, but the process is basically the same although the maintenance fees for a dependent differs.
